Sunday Scrappin'

Scrapbookers and paper crafters of all kinds (even digital scrappers), please join us for Sunday Scrappin', a place to share our accomplishments, goals, and participate in challenges if you choose.

My Ta Da's

1. I got some digital scrapbooking done. I like to digi-scrap my more recent photos for my mom and my ex m-i-l. Goes so much faster! Have you tried Smilebox? If you join, you can not only create cool pages and slideshows, but you can save them as jpg. and print them out. I put them in plastic sleeves to protect them. I'll have a big binder to give my mom for Christmas. Here's one of the 10 digital pages I scrapped.

2. I covered two more shoe boxes, one for my daughter and one for my son. They can use them as storage, and they look pretty good.

3. I completed some traditional layouts, but let me warn you, sometimes I'm feeling uninspired and just have to complete a page regardless of the outcome. Out of five, I'm only happy with the first two pages. I used a rolling stamp and some stickles on each of the first two pages which are both new products for me. I did participate in the challenge over at 52 Sketches, but it didn't come out exactly as I thought it would, either.

4. I won some new scrapping embellishments and a Scrapbooking magazine from Wani's World in her Go, Blog, Go celebration. They arrived yesterday, and I couldn't be happier! Thanks! 5. I ordered the Cricut, and I'm so excited! Except it takes too long to get it :-( But I'm still super-excited! Chrissy has been a great encourager in this department.

My To-Do's

1. Continue to organize my Disney and Arizona pictures and begin at least one layout for each scrapbook. This is a daunting task because I want them to be perfect, and my layouts are never perfect.

2. Stamp a happy birthday card for a co-worker.

Challenge
We were supposed to create something with grass or a grassy border, something of that nature, and I didn't get to it. :-(

Next week's challenge is to do something food related. A recipe, a food-themed page, etc.

I have some Questions for all of you...

1. Do you measure the placement of items on your layout or do you eyeball it? I don't measure, but maybe I should.

2. What type of scrapbook do you prefer (size and type such as post bound, strap, etc.)

I'm going to put the 10 page scrapbook slideshow down here at the bottom in case you'd like to see the whole thing.

  2. There is nothing wrong with your pages at all. They are all fantastic!!

    To answer your questions

    1. I'm horrible I never measure I eyeball it and it doesn't come out right. I'll take a little off here and a little from here. But I am getting in the habit of using my cricut for mats (works a lot lot better).

    2. I prefer to scrap 12x12 it gives me a lot of space. If I scrap 8 1/2 x 11 I don't have enough room and the page is cramped. Album wise I really don't have a preference. I do have several post bound books but they are a little pain in the butt when you want to add more pages.

Love the slide show, very nice!

  3. I saw your slide show at Reader's Anonymous and signed up for Smilebox. That is my kind of digital scrapbooking - pop those pictures in and you're done! I did one for my granddaughter's first birthday party. Love your layouts.
    1. Do you measure the placement of items on your layout or do you eyeball it? I don't measure, but maybe I should. I measure nothing, it's all hit or miss with me.

    2. What type of scrapbook do you prefer (size and type such as post bound, strap, etc.) I use 12x12 Close to My Heart post bound albums.

  5. SO much to comment on - you had a great week! I love the idea of digitally scrapping for gifts, wow that would make things easier for me as far as gift giving goes. I'll have to try it out!

The boxes are so cute & your pages are great. I can be a perfectionist too but with scrapping there's no 'right' or 'wrong' way of doing things. You are telling your story & that's the most important thing.

Your new prizes look like so much fun & ya for a Cricut - I still haven't given into that temptation. You'll have to write up a review & tell us what you think of it. :D

    To answer your questions:

    1. I don't measure the placement of things on my page, just eyeball. I do measure the mattes on my photos though.

    2. For most of my stuff I have 12x12 scrapbooks & they are (or will be) in a 3 ring album. I've used the post bound but have had 2 fall apart/break on me so 3 ring is just easier for me. I do have an 8x8 (or 9x9 - can't remember) album that I used for wedding preparation photos. I have a 5x7 accordion album I used for our honeymoon photos. For gifts & other projects I love doing paper bag albums. So the short answer is most of my stuff is 12x12 but I throw some variety in once in a while.

Have a great week! Sorry for the novel in your comments.

  6. WONDEFUL pages...wow - love them!

I eye ball...it is never perfect, but neither am I!!!!!

I have been doing 12X12 and when I switch to only digital, I am thinking of going down a size, but not sure.

    Hope all is well.

  8. I think your pages are great, and I'm more than a little jealous of your Cricut order! :)

    And to answer your questions:
1.) I never measure anything. Ok, no, I do measure if I have to make multiple copies of something (for a swap) but that's only because I have to have them all look the same. For anything else, nope, no measuring.

2.) I prefer post bound albums because I have a hard time getting the strap-hinged ones back together. I usually go 12x12" or 6x6", but I've done all different sizes. It depends on the subject of the album.

  9. Your layouts are gorgoeus and there is no such thing as the perfect layout. Each are beautiful andunique in their own way.

    To answer your questions:
    1. Do you measure the placement of items on your layout or do you eyeball it? I don't measure, but maybe I should.

Im a measurer. Lol I have to have the elements straight or I rip them up. Lol

    2. What type of scrapbook do you prefer (size and type such as post bound, strap, etc.)

I use mostly the post bind albums but I have started buying the 3 ring albums as they are easier to organise when you scrap out of timeline, Lol

Have fun with the cricut. I have the baby bug and love it.

  13. No wonder you feel like you have too much to do! You do. lol Wow. I love the results, but just don't have the patience to do this much work. Smilebox is more my speed. :)

  14. Great Slideshow.

I use photoshop Elements to do my digi-scrapping.

I never measure - just go by my eye, and try to remember the thirds rule if I can!

I usually create 8x8 pages for myself, but if it is for part of my "digital scrapping for others" business I use up to 12x12.

Thanks for sharing. Came to you from the post at MomBloggers.
