Crafty Cardmaking

My friend's birthday is on Christmas, so I always make sure to asknowledge it as her birthday.  I made her this card and gave it to her, and I think she liked it.  I thought it was cute!  Again, I took an idea from Pinterest and put my own spin on it.

Materials Used

Cricut Maker (any cutting machine will do, including the Explore series and the Joy)

Solid white cardstock

Solid black cardstock

Patterned paper from my stash

An A2 folding card and envelope

Random Happy Tuesday

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.  Ours was... different.  Several family members were sick that we didn't get to see at all.   We only got to see 1 of 5 of our children.  But we made the best of things! I did get to see my mom, sister, b-i-l, nephew, and his wife.  He got to see his dad.  We still have the tree up partly because there are still presents under it and partly because I think it's beautiful and wish we had lighted trees up all the time!

New Year's Eve is coming up.  I'm sure we'll be staying home.  I hope all of our kids do, too.  I worry so much.  Not just about them, but about all the other crazy people in the world.

And no, I'm not making resolutions or a mantra or anything like that.  I have my own goals in my head, and it doesn't take the New Year to remind me to shoot for those goals.  How about you?  Are you a resolution-maker?

Without further ado...

And last, but not least...

Forgetful Much?

Wow.  This is the second week in a row that I forgot what day it was!  But it's still Tuesday, so I'm not that late, right?  There is so much going on right now in addition to the Christmas planning.

I still have presents to wrap, but at least my shopping is done (unless I forgot something, which is quite possible).  I've been trying to wrap presents a few at a time in some red foil with a black band and a "buckle" so it looks like Santa's suit.  Last year I mostly used gift bags because I waited until the very last minute, so I didn't want to do that again.  My back just can't take sitting on the floor for too long at a time, so I think I've finally wised up and will use the dining room table to wrap the rest which means I will have to bring it all downstairs.

We are scheduled to have below freezing temps Thursday night and into the weekend, so I hope it doesn't affect our Christmas plans.  We had a huge freeze in February of 2021 and almost all of our outdoor plants and grass died.  We finally replaced it, so I hope we can keep the plants from freezing this time.  We also lost power for a while because the Texas power grid failed, and this caused major problems for millions of people. The Gulf Coast in Texas is not equipped for snow, sleet, and ice. We just don't have the infrastructure. No de-icers on the roads, no snow plows or snow tires, people who don't know how to drive in snow and black ice on the roads.

But anyway... we can't control the weather... yet... so we will adapt as best we can. So moving on...  How about some funnies?

My favorite cartoon as a kid.

I love Christmas music, but this song gets old fast!

Hahahaha!

All I can say is gross!

YouTube Tells All?

Have you ever tried searching through your YouTube history?  I was looking for a specific video on engraving - which I never found - and I wondered what my YouTube history says about me.  There are so many topics I've searched!  These are not in any order.

1.  Sewing tutorials

2. Cricut tutorials

3. Ice Skating

4. Gymnastics

5. Fishing videos (my son was in them)

6. Music videos

7.  How to switch data from one phone to another

8.  Using the Wyze PanCam security camera

9.  Wreath-making and bow-making

10. Card-making

11. Cooking

12. Cat videos!

13. Alzheimer's/Dementia information

I wonder what you can tell about me based on my viewing history!
