Heads or Tails

Please visit the homepage of Heads or Tails, and don't forget to visit our lovely hostess, Skittles.

This week's topic is Heads: Flower.

A specific flower came into my mind when I read the topic. The most stunning flower I know is the stargazer lily. I love its beauty, its fragrance, its daintiness, the tone that it sets. Calla lilies come close, but stargazers are, hands down, my favorites. They are a hybrid of other lilies, so they have only been around since the latter part of the 20th century.

Family: Liliaceae (lil-ee-AY-see-ay)
Genus: Lilium (LIL-ee-um)

The ones I like best have white edges, a dark pink center, and hot pink dots. Most stargazer lilies have a spotted pattern, a curved shape, and a soft texture. I love them best because of their abundant fragrance. They represent innocence and purity.

Here is a haiku I wrote for the prompt "flower."

Flower that I love,
Blooming delicately sweet,
Till we meet again.
