Surprises

Last night, my husband were treated to a night at the theater. It was quite unexpected; in fact, I didn't find out we were going until I was on my way home from work at 4:15. What a great surprise! My husband's aunt and uncle have season tickets to the theater - excellent seats - fifth row, center - and they couldn't attend. So, they gave us the tickets. We even stopped for a steak dinner on the way downtown.

Leslie Uggams starred in Hello, Dolly! She was fabulous! If you aren't familiar with her, click her name for a link to her website. In short, she is an Emmy and Tony award winner who has appeared in television and Broadway shows. She played a role in Roots, but she is most famous for her voice. She's appeared on numerous variety shows throughout the years. If you aren't familiar with Hello, Dolly, just click here for a brief overview of the story.

The whole thing was delightful! I would have loved to take some pictures and/or video, but that's not allowed. I don't know how we got so lucky to have someone of her talent performing with our "Theater Under the Stars" group. Elaborate costumes, entertaining story, talented dancers and singers, and a lovely, upscale theater made the show a night to remember.

My other surprise is an adorable award from Jen at Jen's Humble Opinion 2. How very thoughtful she is! I would like to pass this award on to Penelope Anne at Cafe at the End of the Universe because I always enjoy her insight, opinion, and encouragement. Hugs to Mama Bear! I also HAVE to pass this on to Hollee Ann at The Vasquez 3 because she thinks it is so cute (and it is) and she is a great blogging buddy, too. I can always count on her to visit me a few times a week! And, Jen, if you hadn't given me this award, I'd be giving it to you!
