Wordless Wednesday

This is breathtaking. I took my students outside Thursday of last week to witness the shuttle flying piggy-back on a 757. Our school is located by Johnson Space Center (NASA - in Houston), so it's what we call a "teachable moment." What an awesome sight, to be so close to the shuttle!

  3. I loved going down to NASA when we were kids. My aunt and uncle would take us frequently, but that was pre space shuttle days. I was fortunate to live near Edwards Air Force Base and with being military we were able to get close ups of a few landings.

  8. I can't believe it, but I was actually able to see it too. A bunch of 5th graders almost trampled me, but I prevailed. ;) It was such an awesome sight!
