Thursday Thirteen

 I would not describe myself as having a green thumb AT ALL.  But my husband and I have been trying to keep some plants alive for a long while.  Some are dying, and a few are thriving.  These are the plants:

Amaryllis (pictured)

Jalapeno

Cilantro

Ivy

Cactus

Basil

Orchid (pictured above)

Asparagus Fern

Elephant Ear

Sago Palm

Ficus

Dracaena

Philodendron

No Posts this Week

 

Lacy

I'm not in the mood for randomness, funnies, or photos (other than this one) this week because on Monday, we had to put our sweet Lacy down.  She was sixteen years old.  She's been losing a lot of weight, not keeping her food down, then all of a sudden, she went blind.  She must have had a stroke or seizure because it literally happened overnight, and she could not walk well (also arthritis in her back legs).  She also had a serious kidney disease.  This was so hard.  I miss her so much!

 Love these flowers, and the only place I've ever see them is Austin, Texas.  Does anyone know what it's called? I just love the colors, vibrance, and detail!

Fun Photos

 Here are a few photos taken on the Lost Mine Trail at Big Bend National Park.  It was a sunny day, and I got to wear the hat I made!  Maybe I look a little goofy with the hat and sunglasses, and I usually have the  camera around my neck, but, oh, well!

Did you notice the "black bear warning" in the sign?  We actually saw a young bear, not a cub, but not fully grown, on two different days.  Glad we didn't run into its momma!

Up, and up, and up we went!  Going down was much easier and took less time!

I love taking photos of interesting trees!

We didn't make it to the very top, and part of the upper trail were closed due to mudslides, but the views were still spectacular!
