Sew Fun!

Hello friends!  I want to share some sewing that I have done recently.  If you read my blog, you know I adore my granddaughter.  I made her a darling dress and a matching hair bow (on a clip) which I forgot to take a picture of, but here's the dress.

I used Simplicity New Look Pattern 6504, view B.  I purchased the main fabric from Jo Ann, Quilter's Showcase cotton as well as the one inch light purple buttons.  I added cotton eyelet trim to the botton of the dress.  The facing was by far the most difficult part of the dress, but I did it!

I also made this bib as we are due for a new grandbaby in less than a month.

This was a little difficult for me.  It is Winnie the Pooh cotton that I already had in my stash on the front and white terry cloth on the back. I had never sewn on terry cloth before.  It's a little different, a little more stretchy than cotton.  It turned out okay, but I'm going to try making one with soft flannel and waterproof/laminate fabric.  I was excited to use my Babyville Boutique snap pliers on an actual project, and the snap turned out well.   I am so happy with it that I can see many types of projects using these snaps in the future.

I also used my Cricut Makerheat transfer vinyl, and my heat press (which is a great alternative to the Cricut easy press) to make this cute onsie and a tee shirt for my granddaughter. Both designs were available through my subscription to Design Space content via Cricut.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my recent sewing and crafting projects.  You can visit Crafty Creators and Friendship Friday for more crafty inspiration.
