Friday's Feast #3

Appetizer
Make up a word and give us its definition.

Randoming - changing the subject to a random topic that has nothing to do with the topic previously being discussed. I use this word quite frequently when talking to my children.

Soup
What is currently your favorite song?

During the holiday season, my favorite song is the POPS instrumental version of Sleigh Ride. (see my post from Dec. 5th for a video)

Salad
What’s at the top of your Christmas wish list this year?

A cat or a kitten, which my husband will not allow. Other than that, a good book to read or some new shoes or boots.

Main Course
Name a scent that reminds you of someone special in your life.

Clinique Aromatics Elixir reminds me of my grandmother. I can't smell it and NOT think of her.

Dessert
Who is someone on television that you feel probably shouldn’t be, and why?

Only one? Give me a break! Anyone who is on MTV because I couldn't care less! It's the bane of our existence.
And Anyone on most of the so-called "reality" shows because I also couldn't care less. I am so OUT of touch with pop culture! I don't watch (and this is going to bring gasps) American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, must less Survivor, Supernanny, or The Amazing Race. I have watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition in the past, but even that gets old after a while, no matter how cute Ty Pennington is. It's almost like one big advertisement. And I liked Wife Swap for the first 2 or 3 episodes, then it really went over the top.
So, all of these people should just get off my TV! Oh, wait! They did! I turned it off.

  1. Your husband doesn't "allow" ?? what's that ? We are living in the 21st century ! Take a cat and allow it to yourself, lol !

  2. I agree on nearly all the reality shows you can't stand...I DON'T watch AI, I kinda like Dancing, but can't watch more than a few minutes of any one show, Supernanny grates my nerves, Wife Swap isn't too bad, except for the fact that the people KNEW what they were signing up for (I mean, they've watched the show, haven't they?), so what are they complaining about.

I will happily sit through Extreme Home Makeover and bawl my eyes out....it's more the people being helped than anything....but I won't necessarily watch all of it either...

    Happy Feasting!

  6. Your dessert is right on the money. I did the same thing three years ago. I just turned all of them off. Have a great FF and weekend. :)

  7. Happy Feast Day. Great dessert and you should be PROUD to be out-of-touch with pop culture.

  8. Wife swap was good for a time...but yeah they started to get outrageous in making swaps that were sure to cause problems. As a homeschooler it was when they started bringing that into play I was peeved, but the uber-Christian who threw the infamous hissy fit, that was the cake topper. No more of that show. I do not watch reality TV beyond "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing With the Stars" only because I like dancing, wanted to do it, but my life long arthritis prevents it. Nice feast. Mine is up and thanks for your visit yesterday.

  9. Happy Friday! Those were all excellent answers.

A agree about the reality shows. It seems if so many of us hate them, then why are they still on the air. Argh! I wish they would move on to something new.

    Have a nice weekend. :o)
