Friday Confessional

Confession is good for the soul! Join Mamarazzi and Glamazon for Friday Confessional.

I confess...

I HATE to grocery shop! I don't know why, I just do. I dread going to the grocery store to stock up on groceries every weekend. Yes, I want to have food for my family to eat, but I wish my husband would let me order from Alice.com. Even if he did, he would still insist we get certain things at the grocery store.

I don't look forward to driving to the store, parking, going up and down the aisles, checking out, loading the car, and unloading the car at home. I don't mind planning meals, making a grocery list, and I don't even mind putting the groceries away when we get home. But... I would rather scrub the toilets than actually do the grocery shopping!

I confess...

I will not give up my beverage of choice... Classic Coca-Cola! I have lowered my fat intake drastically in an effort to improve my cholesterol, and I have been carefully monitoring my calorie intake, but the one things I WILL NOT GIVE UP is my Coke! I have cut down to two a day, but it is not going to get any better than that. That's just the way it is!

Whew! It feels good to confess!

  1. oh man i looooooove to go to the market.

    i love all of it.

it's like a who experience for me.

first i clean the refrigerator out.

then i create my menu for the week based on what is left in my pantry, freezer and fridge. AND what is on sale that week.

then i make my list of groceries.

put on some lipgloss and hit the market.

i also love coming home and putting it all away...facing the labels out and organizing it.

    ahhh...feels so good.

i feel a huge sense of domestic accomplishment.

scrubbing a toilet and doing laundry never gives me that fuzz feeling.

    whoa...long comment, tangent much?

    sorry.

  2. I look at going to the grocery store asa challenge--can I find most of what I need for a low price or on sale? If I can save better than 30% on the sales slip, I win. It's also one of the few outings that is not work during the week. Sad, I know.

  5. Don't do it! Don't give up the Coke! Stand your ground.

I don't hate shopping for the groceries. I just hate loading, unloading, and putting them away. I need to find a service for that part.

  7. What is this alice.com? I hate going to the store, but it's only because I have four kids 6 and under to take with me. That is why, I only go when my husband can go with me.

And I can't give up my Coke either! I went, gulp, 6 days without it this week. I'm so sad.

  8. Ha Ha ha you are addicted to Coke. Guess what... I loooove to grocery shop! I go late late at night after my girls are in bed (hubby is home) it is at the very minimum an hour of pure peace & quite. Also the parking lots are empty because its so late. Menu planning though, I completely suck at!

  10. Grocery shopping is a cruel and unusual form of torture and should be outlawed. Scantily clad men should deliver all of my culinary needs directly to my front door. ;)

When I found out I have diabetes I had to give up my Vault. It was horrible and I still haven't recovered. Crystal Light just isn't the same.
