It's a Happy, Random Tuesday- Cattle, Crafting, and Christmas (not exactly)

Stacy hosts Random Tuesday Thoughts and Sandee hosts Happy Tuesday.  Won't you join in?

My son and I went to Dallas this past weekend to visit my daughter (his twin sister) while her husband was on duty for the Air National Guard.  We had so much fun! We visited, talked, watched a movie, shopped, and cooked together.

But the best thing we did by far, something I've wanted to do for a while now, is go to the Fort Worth Stockyards. It was better than I imagined!  There are activities, photo opportunities, museums, tons of food places and shops, and we only got to see about half of what they have to offer.

More pictures tomorrow!

My favorite activity at the stockyards was watching the Longhorn cattle drive.  We missed the "gun fight," but we will definitely be going back!

Since getting home, I've been trying to get some of my crafts going at a swifter speed.  I'm sewing a dress for my granddaughter right now.  I've got several sewing projects and other crafts I want to do before Christmas. I'm not decorating for Christmas yet, but to get these things done, I have to plan ahead!

No, it's not Christmas yet, but the stores would say it is.
Decorations in lots of places!

What's really swirling in my head lately are some ideas for hand-crafted ornaments (that don't look homemade).  One of the craft sites I visit frequently is having an ornament contest, and while I don't think I would win, I think it will be fun to participate.  I've made ornaments before, but they are usually things I've seen on Pinterest, so I've really got to think out of the box.  First, I need a theme:  nativity, woodland, snowmen, Santas, sweet treats, gingerbread men, poinsettias, etc.  So many ideas!  But maybe some of you have a suggestion?  If so, please leave a comment.  Or leave one anyway!

Shall we get to the good stuff?  Like this.  It's totally me!

This cracked me up!  (I know!  Halloween is over!  But it's funny...)

It probably shouldn't, but this also makes me laugh!

Again, this is me and my cat!

This is true about cats and kids!

And last, but not least...

Have a great week!

  1. We have so many projects and no time to get them done too. If only we had like a month without any work so we could do other things, it would really help a lot but that isn't happening. Good funnies! Happy Tuesday!

  2. Oh, the never ending project list. Grandma has a sign on her fridge, it's Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes with a frown saying, "G-d put me on this Earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I am so far behind I will never die!"

    Thanks for the laughs!
