Thursday Thirteen

Here are some books on my "want-to-read" list.  If you've read any of them and have an opinion, or you have a different book to recommend, I'd love to hear what you have to say!  Please leave me a comment.

1.  The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis (I read some of it years ago.)

2.  Glory in Death by J. D. Robb (2nd in a series.  Read the 1st one years ago.)

3.  The Yada Yada Prayer Group by Neta Jackson

4.  Wake by Lisa McMann

5.  A Truth Worth Tellin' by Toni Teepell

6.  A Cedar Cove Christmas by Debbie McComber (This isn't the first in the series, and I haven't read any of them yet.)

7.  One Day by David Nicholls

8.  Magic Hour by Kristin Hannah

9.  New York Dead by Stuart Woods

10. The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

11. Vanishing Acts by Jodi Piccoult

12. The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom

13. The Mercy Seat by Elizabeth Hartley Winthrop

I just don't know what to read next.  I don't want to read something that willl make me cry, but I don't want to read ONLY detective stories, so I'm searching for some other good books.  Thanks for your help!

  1. Well, you don't seem like a fantasy reader, although I suggest you try it sometime. A lot of it is more magical thinking than "magic." I've read a lot of Stuart Woods - my husband loves his books - and Debbie Macomber tells good stories. You might also try David Baldacci's King & Maxwell series - they're not overly violent and more character based than some of his other books. If you haven't read Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, they are fun books. And of course Sue Grafton's alphabet series.

  2. What a great list. I haven't read any but I heard good things about the Yada Yada Prayer Group.
