Friendship Friday

Head over to Create with Joy to participate in Friendship Friday.

Just a little about me... I was a middle school English/language arts/reading/SPED teacher for 31 years until I retired December, 2019.  Boy, I got out just in time before COVID-19 began.  I am honestly so thankful for that.  I see all the extra hoops teachers have to jump through now with some classes online, some in person, and many students struggling with their home lives due to illness, loss of job, lack of internet, and so much more.  I dodged that bullet. It's difficult teaching under normal circumstances!  I can't imagine teaching under these.

One of my favorite things to do is read.  My favorite genre is legal thriller.  I also like true crime and some historical fiction, depending on the topic.  I'm currently reading The Tattooist of Auschwitz.  I try to get myself to read outside my favorite genres occasionally. I had heard good things about The Hate U Give, so I reviewed that one in last week's Sunday Synopsis.  This week will be the new John Grisham book, The Guardians.

One thing (among many that) I am not good at is gardening.  I received a plant when I retired, a really big one, and I'm shocked I've kept it alive this past year!  I guess I have a black thumb!

What are some of your likes and dislikes?
