Aloha Friday

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. On Fridays, I'll post a simple question for you to answer, nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at An Island Life. Don't forget to visit the other participants to make it more fun.

I have been teaching a looong time.  It's the only thing my degree qualifies me to do.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in English, a Texas Teaching certificate (several, actually, for various subjects and grade levels), and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration.  I love to read, scrapbook, play on my computer, blog, socialize, and organize.

I'm burning out on teaching, but I don't know what else I could do.
What are your suggestions?

  1. What about teaching at a college for adults, teaching English to non English speaking travellers?

  4. Administrator would be good for. Some teachers leave the school environment and become trainers in the business world. Something different and most often more pay.

  5. A consultant for organizing. I am presently in the process of breaking down my Mom's house and hired a liquidator to help me sort through everything. She got done in 6 visits what was taking me a year to do. Even in my own house, I would love for someone to help me organize, get rid of junk, etc. especially since I am disabled and can't lift, bend, etc.

  6. I know how difficult it is for teachers now days but teaching is a gift. If there's any possibility that you're able to find a teaching position that you love and look forward to everyday I say go for it! ;D

  10. Receptionist, librarian, Research. Guess it depends what you specialize in or what else you can do. I'm a retired paralegal and I do transcribing at home & blogging. You need to find out what else would make you feel fulfilled.
