Something on Saturday

So many blogs don't post content on Saturdays, but I've decided to change that! The challenge is to post SOMETHING on Saturday. It can be a regular blog post, a video, a photo, a question for your readers, or whatever you want. It's your blog! So, post "Something on Saturday," grab the photo to use in your post, and leave your link in the comments. I'm going to figure out how to get a Mr. Linky up, so if you have suggestions or a tutorial to offer, that would be great.

Here in Texas, it is tax-free weekend.  This is the one weekend a year where we don't have to pay state sales tax on school supplies or clothing.  The stores are pretty packed, all so consumers can save 8.25% on any school-related items (not computers, but items whose individual price is $100 or less) such as uniforms and other clothing, backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, and so on.  So, a consumer saves $8.25 for each $100 he/she spends.  Frankly, I don't think it's worth dealing with crowds.  I'd rather wait until the inevitable sales and save more than 8.25%.  How about you?

  1. I guess it adds up, but no, I wouldn't go shopping just so I could save 8%.It needs to be at least 40% off!

  2. Yep, I never ventured out on this weekend. Give me a good 20-30% sale any day.

  3. I don't have to school shop now...but I would always need a bigger discount than that to fight crowds.Beside you can get really good sales in July...loads of mark down clothes too... I don't think we ever paid regular price and my daughter always had the coolest clothes, shoes and supplies!!I kind of think the early bird gets the worm....beat the crowds!!

  4. We in Iowa have a tax free weekend too. I did not participate this year, typically I do somewhat. We save 6%.
