Amazon's Early Black Friday Deals

 I don't know about you, but I am already thinking about Christmas shopping!  Giving gifts is one of my favorite things to do during the holidays.  And I have my eye on a few things I'd like to have, too, since I'm being honest.  For example, not as a gift, but for me to use in some of my crafts that need light, these flameless tea lights are great.

 

 My husband and I were at Lowe's or Home Depot a week or so ago, and I saw these entertainment centers that look like they have a fireplace built into them. They much cheaper at Amazon! Isn't this

cool?

   

 One of my daughters loves the farmhouse style of decorating. This matches her style perfectly.

   

 As many of you know, we have two grandbabies. One of them is just 5 weeks old. When they're babies, they love textures and sounds like the stuffed animals that have the crinkle sound when you squish them. This seems like just the right thing for the new baby girl.

   

 And the older granddaughter loves to play with toys that have moving parts. This set of toys has plenty of that, and she can even pretend to to let the characters go on rides. It also has a projectile launcher that I think she would get a kick out of. Plus, it has Toy Story characters.

I don't know if you have any Star Wars fans in your family, but we do. This cute Grogu is actually a mini bluetooth speaker. How cool is that?

   

 My nephew got married last year, and believe it or not, one of the things they requested on their registry was a tent. There are so many deals on hiking and camping gear. This is the tent I gave them. What a wedding gift!

 

I'm mainly just getting ideas right now. I know the Amazon deals won't last forever, so I better start planning soon! What will be on your gift list this year?

Happy Random Tuesday

 Hello! It feels like it's been a while. I spent three days "attending" an online crafting academy. (Check out Jennifer Maker if you like to do crafts!)  I actually participated in a few of the live events, and it was so fun!  I e ven got one of my questions answered during the live broadcast, and it was just a pretty cool feeling. 

I also set up my Etsy shop and am slowly, but surely, stocking it with items to sell, so I've been doing some sewing lately.  I also had to wear a heart monitor from Tuesday through Sunday, and that was a pain. 

It let my skin with some fierce red marks.  The procedure is mainly routine since I have a bicuspid aortic valve.  (I have 2 cusps instead of the normal 3.)  I was born with it.  (I almost said "born this way" so I could also post the Lady Gaga song of the same name, so it's going through my head right now, and it is strangely similar to Madonna's song "Express Yourself.")

Over the weekend, my husband and I took a nice walk through the Eastern Glades of Memorial Park.  It was beautiful, and I love walking on boardwalks.  Not all the trails were boardwalks, just the one through the wetlands and around the lake. 

While we were there, we got to see a couple get engaged. I felt like a creeper, but it was just so romantic!

Yesterday I made the mistake of listening to a true story that involved supernatural occurences. I knew I shouldn't have listened.  I don't mind hearing about serial killers, cold cases, or sometimes even ghosts, but evil is another thing.  It gave me nightmares! I should've known!  No one knows me better that I do!  And now, without further ado...

I feel this way sometimes!

Crafty Friday

 

Hello!  I finally created a craft blog and named it Crafteverly!

If you know me , you know I love to craft!  I enjoy sewing, Cricut , wood, vinyl, paper, and so many other types of crafts, and I love creating  digital items as well.

I've finally opened an Etsy shop, but I only have two digital products uploaded so far, but I'm working on it!  Right now, I want to show you a key fob I made to support my hometown team the Astros.  You can make it using any fabric.  I just happened to have this fabric from when I worked part time at Jo Ann.

I also have to take better pictures before putting them in my shop!

This is super easy to make.  You need the following:

12x4 piece of fabric

12x4 piece of lightweight, fusible interfacing

iron and ironing board or ironing mat

any sewing machine

thread

key fob hardware

pliers

First, you iron the interfacing onto the wrong side of the fabric.  Next fold the fabric in half longways and press.  Open it back up.  Fold one side of the fabric in toward the middle and press.  Repeat on the other side.  Now fold in half again and you should have fabric that is 12x1 with all the raw edges on the inside.

Now take it to the sewing machine and sew a 1/8" straight stitch all the down the open side to close it up.  Then sew a 1/8" straight stitch down the other side so they match.  Now fold in half bringing the two ends with raw edges together.  Baste the key fob in place where the two ends meet.

The last thing to do is to use your pliers to attach the hardware to the fabric making sure not to scratch the hardware.  I used pliers that were made for this purpose as they have a rubber tip on them.  Add keys, and you're good to go!

 Love these flowers, and the only place I've ever see them is Austin, Texas.  Does anyone know what it's called? I just love the colors, vibrance, and detail!
