Wordless Wednesday

My step-son's twins just celebrated their first birthday. This is quite a celebration considering they were born at 25 weeks' gestation. For more about the twins, you can go here or here. And for more about my own set of twins, you can click here.

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle for today... the tub! The daunting tub! The one I have to climb in to reach the other side. But I conquered it! That mammoth didn't swallow me up! I cleaned the window shades, the ledge under the shades, the rim of the tub, the tub itself, all sparkling clean, and I used good ole Comet to clean it. Nothing fancy for me. I'm pleased.
Visit 5 Minutes for Mom for more tackles.

Gah!

This week's Heads or Tails theme is the letter G. All I can think of is... GAH!

The alarm goes off in the morning - Gah!

There are no more Cokes in the fridge? Gah!

H's car is behind mine in the driveway - Gah!

I'm running late! Gah!

The DVR didn't record my show (because someone over-rode my program)? Gah!

The Internet is down? Gah!

Hubby is snoring again - Gah!

You want me to do WHAT? Gah!

My new favorite word - Gah!

Need something mindless to do right now? Check out Uncyclopedia's "defintion" of Gah.

Menu Plan Monday

Sunday - Grilled, mesquite chicken with barbecue sauce, Rice-a-Roni, chopped broccoli.
Monday - Homemade fried chicken, homemade garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans.
Tuesday - Lemon Butter fish filet, squash sprinkled with cheese, spinach, and corn.
Wednesday - We are taking a class at church, so we will eat there.
Thursday - My husband goes to steak night with his father and brothers, so we will get something simple and easy, maybe Subway.
Friday - Pizza night after the baseball game.
Saturday - Date night for my husband and me.

I get lots of compliments on my fried chicken.
My "secret." You need two bowls. In one bowl, beat three eggs with a tablespoon or two of milk. In the second bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and season-all. Dip the raw chicken (I use tenders) in the egg mixture completely coating it, then dip in the flour mixture coating it well. Then double dip. Yes. Dip again, with the same piece, into the egg mixture again, then again in the flour. Place in skillet of heated oil, not so much oil that the chicken is submerged in oil, but just enough. The oil must be hot before you put the chicken in the pan. Turn frequently as the chicken browns. I guarantee it will turn out delicious!
