Food Fusion

Just because you can combine foods to create fusion recipes does not mean you should.

Tex-Mex and ramen is actually a tasty fusion dish as is taco pizza.  Mango and salsa is another fairly common pairing.  Ranch seasoning goes well with cheese, chicken, and bacon.

Tex-Mex Ramen

I'm going to say NO to grape jelly mixed with mayonnaise. It sounds really awful, but I also know someone who uses grape jelly as the base for her barbecue sauce and I've heard that grape jelly and ketchup makes a good sweet-n-sour sauce for pork or chicken.  I'm not ready to eat that, though.

How do you feel about putting asparagus in your breakfast casserole with eggs and hash browns.  Spinach wouldn't bother me in a breakfast casserole, but I think asparagus would.  How about a kimchi tuna casserole.  You can combine them, but should you?  How about collard greens with rice and yogurt (the sour kind), a common Indian food in our daughter's kitchen.  I will most likely never try that!

Vanilla infused beef stew.

Would you eat vanilla infused beef stir fry?  Would a tuna tower taste good with peanut butter? Lastly, a creamy dairy chowder mixed with a salmon filet and yellow curry?  How about nacho cheese pop tarts?

What food fusions would you try?  Anything unusual?

And last, tell me, are you a pineapple-on-your-pizza person or not?  I'm not.  But I like it in chicken salad!
