We got back yesterday from our mini-vacation to Lake Charles: me, my husband, my sister, her husband, and my newlywed nephew and niece-in-law. Is there such a thing? Probably not, but I like to make up words! We only saw my nephew and his wife once. They were honeymooning, so they made separate plans except for one celebratory dinner.
1. It was so good to get away from home and go somewhere just for the fun of it, even though it was short. We've been sitting at home for how long now?
2. All six of us had a wonderful steak dinner the first night. So much fun!
3. Slot machines were fun. Win some, lose some. That's how I expect it to go anyway.
4 The lazy river was awesome!
5. They also have a heated pool.
6. We had a room with a view of the pool even though we had booked a standard room. The above picture was taken at night from our balcony.
7. My husband did well at poker and blackjack.
8. We were within walking distance of another casino (the one my nephew stayed at), so we ventured over there for a late night snack.
9. Video poker was fun. Some wins. More losses. Haha!
10. Free drinks while you're playing.
11. We got to eat dinner at a place that was new to us; one of my sister's favorite restaurants.
12. Very comfy hotel beds and pillows, which is not always the case.
13. We went off property to eat at a local po-boy shop that was really good.

Wow, a get-away! I remember those. Vaguely. I don't see one in my near future but maybe one day . . . I'm glad you had a good time.
