Happy Random Tuesday

Today I'm in a little better mood than I was this time two weeks ago when I first heard my daughter had to have an I-131 full body scan that uses radioactivity to show cancer cells. She had her thyroid removed a year ago, and she has a swollen lymph node that may - or may not - be cause for concern.  She is still waiting for the scheduler from the hospital to call, but I've had time to do some research, and I am trying not to think about it too much.  Plus, we get to visit her and her husband this weekend.  And, I got happy mail from her last week!  So, as long as I don't get in my head about it, I am okay for now.

Let's just go ahead and move on.

This is so true!!!!

Groooaaaaannnn.

Hahaha!  This actually made me laugh.

Or maybe these are more your style...

Have a great week!

It's Supposed to be Happy and Random Tuesday

Not in much mood to write today.  My daughter had her thyroid removed about a year ago, and they are worried that some of her cancer may have spread to the lymph nodes.  She's going to need an I-131 scan.  That's where they inject her with radioactive dye for three days then 2 days later they conduct the scan.  I'm really worried.  She just turned 28 2 months ago.  She hasn't started a family yet, and I worry also that she may never be able to.  Please let me know if you know anything about this type of image study that uses radioactive material.

Christmas in July

Has anyone else started Christmas shopping?  Obviously I'm asking because I have started.  Yes, I realize we have back to school, Halloween, and Thanksgiving first, but I couldn't pass up some of the deals on Prime Day.  Besides, I love Christmas!  It's my favorite holiday.  I love the decorations, especially the Christmas tree, the music, and the warm heart I feel when I give gifts.  Christmas is my love language.  My husband would like to skip Christmas and go on a vacation, and it's not a bad idea, but I'm not ready to skip it yet.  How about you?

And in honor of that...

That's all the Christmas for today!

Have a great week!  And don't forget to visit Happy Tuesday and Random Tuesday Thoughts.

Happy Random Tuesday

Not feeling much like writing a post today as my mom's medical maladies are mostly on my mind, plus the Category 1 Hurricane we just survived leaves us with no power or Internet (meaning I'm not typing this at home), so I will just skip to a few funnies!

Happy Random Tuesday

Our weather caster said, "Be that as it may" three times Sunday night during one newscast.  Perhaps she could have used "despite this," or "nevertheless."  When my husband says, "Nevertheless," I like to counter with "Ever the more." Get it?

The phrase, "Be that as it may" became popular in Middle English by Chaucer although he wrote it, "Be as be may." Chaucer is best known for The Canterbury Tales written  between 1387 and 1400.  I wonder if people (other than those who major in English Lit) ever read The Canterbury Tales anymore.  My mom had to read it when she was working on her Master's. Thankfully, I didn't.

Middle English is like a whole different language.

Moving right along...  Have a laugh at one or two of these!  Which is your favorite?

And my favorite:
